Use Chromify in Codex
The Chromify plugin helps you design for 3D printing: review flat-color references, build 3D models, organise your Library and download results into your workspace, all on your linked Chromify account and plan.
Start with an idea or reference. Review a design, generate a model, then continue local print preparation with your assistant.
Connect your account to start designing for 3D printing.
Install Chromify
Opens the desktop app with an installation request. Review and send it; Codex handles the ZIP and commands.
Already installed? Start in Codex
First time? Create a Chromify account or sign in. After installation, connect that account in Codex. Projects and results are saved to its private Library. If you already connected, the plugin reuses that connection.
Start with the free plan. See current allowances and optional Pro subscription in Plan & billing. Installation does not start a subscription or charge a payment.

Advanced: manual installation
- Unzip the download somewhere permanent, for example
~/codex-plugins/. It contains achromify-marketplacefolder. - Register the folder with Codex:
codex plugin marketplace add ~/codex-plugins/chromify-marketplace - Install the plugin:
codex plugin add chromify@chromify - Start Codex and ask it to use Chromify. The first time, Codex opens a browser window to link your Chromify account. Never paste passwords or secret keys into chat.
To update, unzip the new version over the old folder and run the install command again. To remove it, runcodex plugin remove chromify.
The button opens an installation request; it does not silently install software. Browser detection of an installed desktop app is unreliable, so use the download and copy-request fallbacks if your app does not open. The plugin-store link will appear when a reviewed public listing is available.
Start here
After installation, select Chromify and run its setup to connect your account and see a short tour. You can also say “Show me what Chromify can do” at any time.
These open a request in the desktop app. Project changes and deletions happen only after you choose a target and confirm.
What you can ask
- Design a 3D-printing reference with flat material colors, refine it, review views, then build a model.
- List, rename or delete projects; delete images and models; download GLB, STL or OBJ files.
- Check your plan, storage and a per-task breakdown of credits, Processing time and tokens.
Native Bambu 3MF preparation is still under validation. A generated GLB or STL alone is not a verified print-ready project.
